Before a campaign begins, you can edit or pause it. However, once the campaign has started, you can only modify the ad content, budget, or extend the end date. If you only edit the ad content, performance predictions will not change. However, if you adjust the budget or end date, the system may generate new predictions for the campaign and display them in the estimated metrics.
You cannot pause a campaign that has already started. However, if you want to cancel the campaign, you can delete it at any time. When canceling the campaign, you will need to reset it and may receive new information about CPM prices and performance predictions. Refer to the information shared how to cancel an ad by Optimal FB below.

Why should you cancel Facebook ads?
You are targeting the wrong audience in your Facebook ads
The Facebook Ads Manager guide will walk you through each step of creating an ad, and part of that process is detailed targeting. You add a range of interests and behaviors, immediately thinking you’ll reach new customers, those you’ve never met but who fit the profile.
You are targeting the right audience but with the wrong message
One reason your Facebook ads may not convert is when you’re targeting people who could be ideal customers in the future, but the ad content doesn’t reflect their current reality. The ad copy may be more suitable for those in a further stage of the marketing funnel.
You are targeting the right audience but using inappropriate Facebook ad types
You’ve created some great videos on your website or Facebook page and received positive feedback from everyone. You decide to retarget them with an ad, but you use static images in the ad or link to a website ad.
Targeting too broad audience
You still want to reach an audience based on interests and behaviors, but the scope is too wide, making it difficult for Facebook ads to reach effectively. However, if you still do so, use the Detailed Targeting tool to optimize efficiency.
Low relevance score of your Facebook ads
Facebook highly values ads that are relevant to your target audience. They reward advertisers who do this correctly by displaying their ads to more people and charging them less. You need to aim for a high relevant score.
Your Facebook ads don’t match the landing page
You may have created perfect ads, but if the landing page is not suitable, you will lose conversion opportunities. The landing page needs to significantly reflect the ad, so images, copy, layout, sentiment, and color tones need to be similar or appropriate.
